As part of our Intramural Open, each team has been challenged to find a way to give back to the wider community. Lets face it, if we have the time, means, and ability to participate in The Open, we're probably doing pretty well! So while we're throwing down and having fun we're looking for ways to spread that positivity. The Incredible Hulks have chosen the Green Ribbon campaign, which aims to open up the topic of Mental Health. They'd like to share the following information...
The CrossFit Open, for many of us, is a daunting physical challenge. What we don’t talk about are the mental challenges that come along with it. With competition comes the fear of failure, the anxiety of being in front of a crowd, or worries that you’re just not good enough. So many people share these thoughts, our goal is to get talking about it! The Green Ribbon Campaign aims to get people talking openly about common mental health problems. This campaign promotes open conversation about mental health and it challenges the associated stigma that sometimes comes with it. For the next four weeks of the open the Incredible Hulks will be sharing a weekly post from The Little Things Campaign. This campaign focuses on the little things that we can all do to protect our own mental health, and support the people we care about. Little things can make a big difference!
