When this thing we love comes under attack in supposedly "peer reviewed science", someone needs to stand up to this bullshit.

Tl:dr
A researcher named Dr. Ferdinando Cereda gets a paper published in Journal of Physical Education and Sport.
In it he makes repeated claims about injury risk and burnout in CrossFit
A doctor of Physio Therapy named Zach Long smells bullshit and actually goes through the paper and checks each reference
He finds at least 13 instances of outrageous claims, misrepresented data, and wildly irrelevant citations.
He emails the author and the author responds (in writing!!) admitting that references "do not contain the specific experimental finding", acknowledging claims "cannot be substantiated", and say he "cannot currently verify the original source" for claims of injury rates, BUT states that his broader points remain valid.
Translation: yeah I know none of that is actually supported with evidence, but I still stand behind it because it's just, like, my opinion man.
If you care at all about the legitimacy of science, you should be mad about utter bullshit like like this.
Do not discount the evidence of your eyes of the people you're surrounded by every day. CrossFit works. It is the most effective fitness program out there and we deliver these superior results with at least as much safety (if not more) than any other recreational or fitness activity.
